Enchantment for Lely Any Level

Reading with altered 35 mm slides, (15 minutes), 2017.

Taking as its subject an abandoned potato sorter (Lely Any Level), photographed in slide film near Loch Loyne in Scotland, this work looked at bringing the piece of farm equipment in through the door of a flat, to the room where the performance took place. This happened with a form of enchantment; a rotation of relevant Gaelic place names, altered 35mm slides that shifted in and out of focus, and with a description of the flat and its furnishings.

Performed multiple times during the solo exhibition Anonymiser Particular at Alex Hetherington's flat 'No. 35/elongated domestic gallery space/The men and women are referred to in the text as', Bannockburn.
